Same scrappy to do list...for Two years...

Yes, you read the title right I've had the same scrappy to do list for TWO years!
For some reason I can't just finish off my kids baby books.. I have all the pictures, the pp and books, I just find myself staring at the pics and unable to scrap. When I do get around to scrapping it takes me forever and then It's just one or two pages till I am off scrapping something else. Is this some weird way of me holding on to the baby stages? Or am I putting to much pressure on myself to make the baby books perfect? Whatever it is It has kept finish baby books on my to do list for the last 2 years!

Chipboard Mini album tutorial

 I made a mini album for My Mil's birthday and actually took pics as I went along. Please excuse the quality of the pics, It was hard to take the pics and show what I was doing. Next time I will have help.  Hopefully this is a helpful tutorial.. feedback is always appreciated :) This is just for the cover page, the rest will be posted after she receives the book but you can see it in my gallery at Acot.


OK first I started with a Bare elements chipboard album (by creative imaginations)
I traced the chipboard page on the back of the pp I wanted to use. I chose one that had a frog on it by colorbox (MIL loves frogs) ( TIP: be sure to place the side you are going to cover facing down on the back of the pp) I then removed the chipboard page.

I cut out the paper and adhered it to the chipboard page, using Aileen's tacky glue. I then took a piece of brown card stock and lined it up on the front so I could see how far I wanted it to go.

I marked the place and then flipped it over so I could trace just the top portion onto the brown cs.

I removed the book and cut out the brown cs

Next using adhesive of your choice ( you can use any scrapbooking adhesive for this part, I used my ATG gun) Place the topper down on your page.

Next flip it over and punch Holes directly through the chipboard holes. ( you want to do this before you cover the back  with paper to make sure you don't cover them.)

Now you can cover the back of this page the same way.

Now for those slightly uneven or rough edges I like to sand them and ink just to give it a nice look.  This is all about your comfort and style so You can easily skip this step.

Once both sides are covered you can add large eyelets (make sure your ring fits through before you attach them) I used my CAD 2 just because It was close but my smaller pink one works just as well.

Next I Placed ribbon across the front I like the brown cs peeking out at the bottom so I put it up higher.

I wanted more color so I added a multi color ribbon on top of the green..

now have fun and decorate with embellies... I added a Tim holtz journal ticket, a sassafras lass card (jungle bungle) and Layered 2 chipboard circles and placed a chip title across the front.

Now for the title, I like to add the title last just because it gives you the option to overlap embellies and make sure it stands out. I used a glitter rub-on.

You can repeat the steps above for each page decorating as you like.

Top 5 list of the things I am obsessed with right now

 So Jess had a great prompt and I happily took on the challenge! Blog a top 5 list of the places or things you are obsessed with right now... 

#1 

 It shouldn't be surprising that number one on my list is staying on my no buy! Yes I am a crazy woman and put myself on a 6 month no buy challenge so I would be forced to use up some of my stash... well that was 2 months, 8 days and 6 hours ago! It's hard to pass up sales and well new items, Which brings me to Number 2.

#2 CHA Releases there are so many wonderful new items I have my eyes on (see post below) and I can't stop thinking about them!

 #3 Getting my Scrapbooks up to date! Yes I know it's nearly impossible to catch up once you fall behind but I really would like to at least catch up to the last 6 months or so.

 

#4 Organizing and downsizing my scrap stash.. umm yeah I am not even going to talk about this because I will fill up a full page! Totally Obsessed with organizing!! (have you seen my scrap space?) this is just a small sample... so I don't look crazy! but I have tons of labels, cubes and shelves.

So the number five thing on my obsessed list doesn't have anything to do with Scrap booking... shocking I know!

#5 Decorating the bookshelf in our living room! It is driving me insane and every time I think I got it, I don't! I have never spent so much time decorating one area..Not even a scrap page!  I think about it all the time. I just got finished trying a new set up so hopefully it sticks.. Hopefully! I am losing my mind and soon it will end up just empty!!

CHA 2011 sneak peeks!

After looking through Sneak peeks all day, I am bringing you my top picks from CHA 2011. There are a lot of nice things out there, but I am very picky and like to look for fresh ideas, hope this helps you as well! Also I will update this post as more sneak peeks are released.

 From Prima, I am so in love with the blue Audrey Rose also the The Classic Lace Collection. When I think of Prima I think of beautiful flowers, it's no wonder they are on the list for the second CHA in a row.

Memory works Elementary collection, I just love these colors not too bright and the cutest embellies! Now if you are thinking this looks like the BO bunny paper i adore (and picked last CHA) it does, but the distressed look this has really makes it even better for me. Plus I have used up 2 packs of the BO bunny and I am so glad to have something with the same muted colors but a fun new design and this is it!!

Of Course if you know my you know I love Glitz Design and they did it again they have three amazing new lines but Love games is my fave. this is something you can only get from Glitz love the stickers too. You can see the rest at http://glitzitnow.blogspot.com/

Sketches And the winner!!! :)

Happy MLK Jr day. I am going through and making sure I put names in for everyone who participated in my 1-11-11 giveaway. We are doing this the good old fashion way, and My son is going to pick the name from my box of papers. I got use to random.org but this is so exciting!
